Birdie - CO2 monitor - Reacts when it's time to ventilate

This is the motto behind the new groundbreaking product called Birdie Fresh Air Monitor.

Birdie Fresh Air Monitor is a rechargeable air quality monitor that measures the air quality in your home using a built-in CO2 sensor.

Health experts recommend ventilating 2-3 times every day. Birdie is a friendly and fun reminder to remember to do it.

The goal of Birdie is to improve indoor air quality.

Birdie Fresh Air Monitor can, in the long term, contribute to:

- Removing stale air and odors from your home.

- Preventing mold and removing dust.

- Preventing asthma, allergies, and headaches.

The idea originated from the practice of using canaries in coal mining to detect toxic gases. When the canary fainted, it was a sign that the miners should quickly leave the mines. The CANAIRI bird works in a similar way. When the canary hangs upside down, it's a sign that the oxygen quality in your home is poor. The only way to revive the bird is by ventilating.

How does it work?

The Danish-designed product has a built-in CO2 sensor that can measure the CO2 level in the room where the air monitor is located.

If the CO2 level is above the internationally recommended limit, the bird will turn upside down and hang its head. And that's a sign that you need to ventilate. When the air in the room is good again, the canary will return to an upright position. This means that your indoor climate once again meets current standards, and you can now close your windows.

Birdie has three positions.

1. Upright position. This position means that the CO2 level in your home meets the current standard. That is, the CO2 level is below 800 ppm (parts per million).

2. Hanging-down position. This means that the CO2 level in your home is above 1000 ppm and has therefore exceeded the current standard.

3. Sideways position. This means your CANAIRI has run out of power and needs to be charged.

Birdie measures the CO2 level in the room every 10 minutes. If the CO2 level in the room has exceeded 1000 ppm, it will start measuring the air every 5 minutes for the first half hour, and then every 10 minutes again.

When the CO2 level is again below current standards (800 ppm), the bird will turn off for a period of 2 hours. It does this to save energy. Within this time period, it would be very unlikely that the CO2 level would be able to exceed the current standards.

How do I mount it?

Birdie comes with a wall mount. You screw it to the wall, and then you can attach the bird by clicking it into the wall mount.

Birdie will then perform an automatic demo round, where it will rotate around its disc. This shows that it is ready to measure the CO2 level in your home.

If you want a precise measurement of the current CO2 level in the room, you can restart the bird by simply lifting the CANAIRI from the wall mount and attaching it again.

Charging

Birdie is battery-powered and needs to be charged every 8 months with a charger that is included.

It takes 4 hours to charge.

You can also choose to always have your charger connected to CANAIRI while it is turned on.
